ALL YOUR BOATING NEEDS IN ONE PLACE
Coates Marine was first established by Mike Coates on its current site in 1990, and was set up to cover most of the needs of the small boat owner. The business was purchased by William Uppington and Stephen Hammond in 1998 and is now under the control of Stephen Hammond. The company employs six, very experienced people willing to assist and advise in all aspects of boat maintenance and operation.
The company operates a 16 tonne boatlift capable of lifting boats out of the water from the harbour slipway or off road transport. The lift can handle motor cruisers and yachts up to 42 feet long and 13 feet wide, transporting them into the boatyard. Within our compound, we have space to store up to fifty vessels for owners to work upon or they can be brought inside our workshop for our engineers to repair, refurbish or repaint. We have extensive experience in the repair of glass fibre and wooden boats, and have carried out many projects over the years to a high degree of satisfaction.
